Monica has been serving at-risk families for over 20 years. She has worked for WIC, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, has fostered teen girls and has acted as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children who have survived abuse or neglect. Recently Monica served as the Trauma Services Coordinator for a psychiatric hospital where she developed and administered trauma programming for adults and adolescents and trained both professional and paraprofessional staff.

In her private practice she provides both mental health and nutrition counseling to children, adolescents and adults, and works with agencies at the local, state and national level to provide education and training on the link between food, mood, trauma and behavior.
