204: Water Quality and Health Needs

Every Michigander deserves quality drinking water. Michigan is committed to address drinking water contaminants by working with local entities and community members to reduce exposure and protect public health. This session will describe the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services- Division of Environmental Health public health response to public water supply’s elevated lead and copper levels in drinking water and steps Michigan residents can take to reduce exposure to drinking water contaminants in both public water supplies and private wells. The session highlights how MDHHS collaborates with and continues to grow our partnership with the Women, Infants, and Children program to protect the health of their clients across the state.
